It's an interesting time right now because everyone in the family is at home together - at ALL times. You have parents working, kids studying, and little ones entertaining themselves - sometimes all in the same room! Let’s say we flipped the home office concept on it’s head for a minute, and thought of it as more of a co-working space for the adults (laptops and coffee mugs in tow!) and/or a common study area for the older kids? What might that look like?
There would need to be a spacious table (seats 4-6), casual but comfy chairs, a storage solution for office/study supplies, some good lighting. And finally, your rug, curtains & accents to finish off!
I’ve pulled together 2 ways to create a dedicated work/study area like this, but keeping the main elements the same and simply changing up the accents! Sophisticated & chic. Or playful & family-friendly. Which one do you prefer?
Sophisticated & Chic
Main elements - white table (Ikea, a longer one here) / tulip chairs / feather pendant light / cube storage / cube storage baskets
Accents - wasabi curtains / navy damask rug / brush strokes table lamp (a more affordable one at Target) / fabric (seat cushion covers)
Playful & Family-friendLy
Main elements - same as above
Accents - damask curtains / orange striped rug / white ceramic lamp / art (such a fun one!)
