Day 22: Rampant color

While on Bunny Williams (yesterday’s post here), I had to share this spirited kid’s bedroom designed by Bunny. It’s a fun little space that packs a punch :) What I love about it - it feels child-like. The bold color and variety in the room is stimulating & exciting.

So what are the elements that make this room come alive?

The use of primary colors. Red walls, navy quilt, canary yellow table lamps - they punch in strong, cheerful color

Playful shapes & patterns - From the funky lamps, to the animal heads, to the parade of elephants fabric on the chair - it’s all light-hearted and fun, nothing serious! Scale is something to take note of here as well - the scale of the patterns and the shapes in the room too are medium to large in scale.

Books! No child’s room is complete without their favorite books. To spur the imagination or get lost in new worlds. I love the built-in, and the trim around it, so much. A tall white bookcase or two (like this or this) would be equally effective - secured to the wall.

I’ve rounded up a few items to pull a playful look like this together. Quilts, blankets, lamps, wallpaper, fabrics & art (you can click on the images). Enjoy!
